Can you tell us more about Risepointe?
Risepointe is an architecture and interior design firm that helps Christian churches and Christian schools align their physical spaces with their desired mission - all throughout the country. A simple motto that defines our mission as a company is "Your mission shouldn't be held back by your building (church)." We offer effective and creative design solutions that help our clients continue a more effective ministry.
How has being part of the Labour Temple community influenced your work or business culture?
We were founded in 2016 and have worked on projects in over 30 states since the beginning which has translated to hundreds of projects completed. We are comprised of two offices currently (a third coming soon) - our Seattle office here in the Labour Temple with 4-5 people and our Chicago office with about 15-18 people. We are relatively small for an architecture company but our impact is mighty!
One landmark project that we are excited about is actually on the same block as the Labour Temple - Downtown Cornerstone Church (photos below). The church was finally able to open its doors earlier this year after an arduous 5 year design, permitting and construction process. Come say hi to us - we are in unit 305!
For me - working 5 days a week at the Labour Temple for 1.5 years now has really elevated my work experience. There is something about being downtown in a well designed space surrounded by a variety of other perspectives, businesses and people that helps me be more inspired and effective at what I do. It does feel like a family here and I always look forward to meeting new people, having new conversations, enjoying the beautiful amenities and getting a good morning greeting as I walk in.
What’s one piece of advice or mindset shift you wish more people knew?
Years ago, I really started to develop a growth mindset in everything I do. Be comfortable being uncomfortable. Take risks and get out of your comfort zone and you will be amazed when you look back at your life in a few years.
